Our Roof Structure – which makes us different from many other garden room companies
Our roofs are built from timber the same as if you were building a flat roofed house extension. Many of our competitors use a composite roof panel which is a low cost system giving cheaper buildings but not the durability, longevity or interior finish of a wooden roof.
We incorporate at least 100mm insulation and a ventilation gap to prevent the build-up of condensation and further improves insulation.

Roof / Ceiling Cross Section
The roof slopes on angled wooden ‘furring strips’ to a gutter at one end, and the whole structure is covered by an EPDM synthetic rubber sheet which has a manufacturer’s warranty of 20 years.

Composite roof panel
Because we use angled furring strips, the ceiling inside is level from front to back. Composite roof panels give a ceiling that slopes at the same pitch as the roof giving reducing head room as you move to the back of the building.
Our ceilings are dry lined and skim plastered and allow the use of recessed downlights.
Garden Studio’s We’ve Built Previously

This is an example of one of our most popular garden room designs
This is an example of one of our most popular garden room designs. Often built to fit snugly across the end of a long narrow garden.

A refurbished garage
This looks like one of our brand new garden rooms, but is in fact a refurbished garage. Hidden behind the cedar cladding are the old concrete panels. The roof was raised and walls floor and ceiling insulated to a high standard. We even managed to accommodate a precious old apple tree!

A self-contained living space
In central London where square footage is highly valued, adding living space to your current accommodation is a popular choice. This self-contained living space was designed for an Au Pair but could equally give a grown up son or daughter some independent space, it could easily be used as a space for guests, short or long term.

Outbuilding Transformation
The interior of a refurbished outbuilding, looking spic and span and ready for use as a therapy clinic. A great example of how we can turn a tumble down old building into a valuable space for work or leisure.

Recessed front elevation
The recessed front elevation in this 4m x 2.8m garden office is a popular feature that tends to give a softer appearance. The lights above the French doors and glazed panels are controlled remotely, making it a lovely garden feature when viewed from the house, even when not in use.
